SELECTING COIL SPRINGS:
I recommend the (Mustang II V-6 W/Air) springs if your running
a Small Block or 6 cylinder with no A/C . This spring provide excellent
ride height and ride quality.
I recommend the (Mustang II V-8) springs if you have an
engine fully loaded like mine or a big block.
I started out with the (Mustang II 4 cylinder W/Air) springs
with a small block and no accessories and it was o.k. for awhile until
the suspension settled then the ride height got to low and the ride quality
went down.
I then added the blower and A/C and thought the V-6 springs
would do just fine. I was wrong again, they weren't strong enough
and the ride height was too low and the ride quality was terrible.
That's when I went to the Mustang II V-8 springs and was finally happy
with the ride height and ride quality.
Please don't forget to install the spring cushion
before the spring is installed or your going to get some nasty squeaking
noises.
How can you tell if you have the right springs
The lower control arm should be parallel to the ground for
optimum suspension operation.

DISC BRAKE CONVERSION KITS:
(Don't buy the Heidt's Bracket Kit see vendors complaint page )
If you want to eliminate all the running around town locating
rotors of one year, calipers of a different year, and bearings of a different
make then do what I did and order a complete kit from ECI or any other
supplier of conversion kits and avoid the frustration. The kits come
with the desired rotor bolt pattern, bearings, races, seals, adapter brackets
and installation hardware. All you need to do is buy flexible brake
lines to connect to the hard lines and your done.
I've installed complete kits and basic
kits (basic kits contain -the adapter brackets, bearing races and seals)
and didn't enjoy the experience of having to deal with the counter people
in trying to locate all the different items required to complete the installation.
It's just not worth the time and effort.

SWAY BARS:
This is one item that's mandatory if your looking to obtain
the best ride quality for your truck. The stock Mustang II sway bar
will not work but several vendors sell sway bars specifically designed
for our trucks. I purchased front and rear sway bars from Fat
Fender Street Rod Shop and was finished in less than two hours.
They not only improve your ride quality
but also increase gas mileage because you don't have to slow down as much
to negotiate corners.

REQUIRED MODIFICATION:
I don't know if any of you have noticed this but the factory
Mustang II suspensions top hats have serration's on them that mate with
the upper control arm shaft. These two serration's mate when the
alignment bolts are torque down and help maintain your alignment.
HAVE YOU SEEN ANY SERRATION'S ON THE AFTER MAKET SUSPENSION
KITS???
I suggest that you place a cross hatch pattern on the
new top hats in this area so their will be better holding to maintain the
alignment.
