My Dad's Driveway

The two tone Burgundy Chevy is a 1953 1/2 Ton 5 Window he owned
for 8 yrs. We installed a 270 CID 6 Cylinder, Turbo 350 Transmission,
12 bolt posi and converted it over to 12 volts. He sold it right after
this picture was taken to a 18 year old College Student. She drives
the truck every where and get some great gas mileage with the 3:08 gears
in the rear end.
The Green Truck is a 1948 GMC 5 Window my father and I build the previous
summer. I had a Camaro sub frame ready to go into it but he wanted
to stay with the straight axle? It cost me more to buy him the Mono
Leaf springs then it would have cost me to install the sub frame.
The GMC was built to be a driver as are all his trucks but this time
he selected something unusual for motivating the truck around town.
He chose a V-6, Automatic Over-Drive, 12 bolt posi, mono leaf front suspension,
and a 12 Volt electrical system. It was a nice change to install
a V-6 instead of V-8's and have all that room to work with. He gave
the GMC to my 13 year old nephew soon after the picture was taken.
